My favourite book is ‘’Percy Jackson and the Olympians: the Lightning Thief’’. The author of the book is Rick Riordan.

The main character is Percy Jackson, the  son of Poseidon. Other characters are Sally Jackson, Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood.  

Percy goes to Yancy Academy and there are two teachers Ms Dodds and Mr Brunner. 

They go on a school field trip and Ms Dodds attacks Percy and turns into a hydra, a five-headed sea monster. Mr Brunner helps Percy by throwing  him a magical pen that turns into a sword with which the boy kills the monster.  

Another unbelievable things happen when Percy’s mum drives him to a summer camp.  

At the camp he finds out that his best friend Grover is a satyr, Mr Brunner is a centaur and the camp leader is a god. 

He makes friends with Annabeth Chase and Luke Castellan. 

Annabeth, Percy and Grover go on a mission to get Zeus’s lightning bolt.

This book is a part of a series of Percy Jackson’s adventures. It is really interesting because it is based on the ancient Greek mythology.
